Why is My House Not Selling?

Three little questions to ask yourself if your house has been on the market for too long.

“It has been almost 6 months that my house is for sale and it has not sold yet. What’s going on?”

This is a common question that we hear quite often in the real estate world.

The following are 3 quick questions to ask yourself, to get you started:

1. Is my house listed at the right price?                                                                        Sellers often believe that their property is worth a lot more than it is.  And why not? Sellers often sell their “home” instead of selling a property.  A certified Real Estate Broker will be able to guide a seller to list the property at an accurate price using comparable sales. Price it well from the start!

2. Is my house clean?                                                                                                                Your real estate broker has announced that he is bringing a potential buyer to visit your property. Get busy: clean your house, tidy up, vaccuum, dust, air it out, etc.  Nothing screams “turn-off” more than a dirty house.

3. Is my real estate broker present?                                                                             When you hire a broker you are trusting that they will do the leg work.  Do they show up when a buyer visits or when another broker brings a buyer? Do they follow up with visitors? Do they give you updates? Ask for it.

But that’s not all! For additional tips, tricks or consult, please communicate with Monique Assouline, Real Estate Broker at Londono Group in Montreal.  It’s free and there is no obligation.
